Free bodywork session for people in grief
Grief doesn’t happen only “in the mind.” The body often carries its weight: breathing becomes shallow, the chest tightens, and tension appears in the abdomen and pelvis. The nervous system runs at high speed—either in constant “alarm mode” or in numbness. This bodywork session has one simple purpose: to offer a little calm, breath, and relief.
What is bodywork for grief?
It is a gentle small-group session based on soft nervous system regulation techniques through movement, breath, and music. Why “gentle”? Because the nervous system during grief is often heavily burdened, and overwhelming it with too many stimuli could have the opposite effect of what support is meant to bring.
During the session, the following elements may appear, among others:
- grounding (stabilising in the “here and now”),
- releasing tension in the chest and shoulder girdle,
- gentle work with the pelvis and hips area,
- breath and movement that support a sense of safety.
The cycle includes 6 sessions—it is possible to attend the full cycle or join individual sessions.
In case of a high number of registrations, the meeting may be split into two 60-minute groups—one for people up to 1 year after the loss and one for people more than 2 years after the loss (those “in-between” will be assigned to one of the groups depending on the number of registrations). We will send the details by email before the meeting.
