☕💀 Death Cafe in Bemowo (Warsaw) – conversations about death over coffee and cake

Have you ever wanted to talk about death but felt that it’s “not appropriate” to bring up such a topic in company? Or perhaps you find yourself thinking about impermanence and have no one to share your reflections with?

🍰 What is a Death Cafe?

This is not a lecture or a workshop. The meeting is not a form of therapy either. A Death Cafe is a gathering with no set agenda, and each one unfolds differently. It’s an open, relaxed conversation about death with… delicious cake and non-alcoholic drinks

The Death Cafe movement began in the United Kingdom in 2011 thanks to Jon Underwood. Since then, thousands of people around the world have been meeting in cafés, homes, and libraries to break taboos and become more familiar with what is inevitable.

We believe that speaking openly about death helps us live our lives more fully and more consciously. 🌿

👥 Who is this meeting for?

For every (adult) mortal – regardless of worldview, experience, or how “comfortable” you feel with the topic. Come along if you’d like to listen, share your story, ask the questions on your mind, or simply spend time in a space where death isn’t a forbidden subject.

You can speak a lot, or you can just listen and have a coffee. The choice is yours.

Important: this is not therapy

This is a social, community-style gathering. It is not psychoeducation or therapy. We also don’t give advice such as “what you should do”. If you are in acute crisis and need immediate help, please seek specialist support.

The meeting will be facilitated by:

Marta Tittenbrun i Agnieszka Wójcińska
