Grief Walk – a riverside walk for people in grief
Sometimes grief needs not so much words as movement, breath, and the presence of nature. A walk can become a gentle way of being with what feels difficult for us.
Grief House Warsaw and Las Lab invite you to a riverside Grief Walk by the Vistula, where in a completely open and unhurried way you will be able to draw on the therapeutic power of nature and look within it for calm, joy, and a sense of meaning. We will draw from the practice of shirin-yoku — forest bathing — and, in line with the principles of Japanese medicine, immerse our senses in the atmosphere of the forest.
This will be an unhurried walk by the Vistula — slow enough to notice the subtle connections between all living beings, to observe the play of light among the leaves, follow the flight of butterflies, hear the birds, touch the bark of trees, and smell the flowers. We will offer gentle prompts on how to invite nature deep within yourself, how to let it become a tender companion and healer. There will also be circles during which we will try to form the beginnings of a supportive community. And there will be the river, carrying our sorrows beyond the horizon.
During the walk, there will also be simple invitations to reflection and short moments of shared pause. You will not need to say more than you want to. You can simply walk together, at your own pace, and see what it is like to be in grief not alone, but alongside others.
